I use fleece for the top, well you can use it as the bottom, but the side with the decoration or color the person would like.<iframe loading=\"lazy\" style=\"width: 120px; height: 240px;\" src=\"\/\/ws-na.amazon-adsystem.com\/widgets\/q?ServiceVersion=20070822&amp;OneJS=1&amp;Operation=GetAdHtml&amp;MarketPlace=US&amp;source=ac&amp;ref=qf_sp_asin_til&amp;ad_type=product_link&amp;tracking_id=lussela08-20&amp;marketplace=amazon&amp;region=US&amp;placement=B00KHZ4Q6W&amp;asins=B00KHZ4Q6W&amp;linkId=ZRA2KZO63ZBJLSAH&amp;show_border=true&amp;link_opens_in_new_window=true\" width=\"300\" height=\"150\" frameborder=\"0\" marginwidth=\"0\" marginheight=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\"><br \/>\n<\/iframe> The backside I use a special minky fabric <iframe loading=\"lazy\" style=\"width: 120px; height: 240px;\" src=\"\/\/ws-na.amazon-adsystem.com\/widgets\/q?ServiceVersion=20070822&amp;OneJS=1&amp;Operation=GetAdHtml&amp;MarketPlace=US&amp;source=ac&amp;ref=qf_sp_asin_til&amp;ad_type=product_link&amp;tracking_id=lussela08-20&amp;marketplace=amazon&amp;region=US&amp;placement=B005JFPJYI&amp;asins=B005JFPJYI&amp;linkId=NL2QKRHSXYVEBQDY&amp;show_border=true&amp;link_opens_in_new_window=true\" width=\"300\" height=\"150\" frameborder=\"0\" marginwidth=\"0\" marginheight=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\"><br \/>\n<\/iframe>that coordinates with the top. \u00a0For children, I use only one yard each of fabric. \u00a0Adults, I found out by trial and error, mostly error \ud83d\ude42 need two yards of fabric.<\/p>\n<p>Pins are a necessity! \u00a0Do not attempt without pinning first. \u00a0You&#8217;ll be really unhappy and it will take twice as long because you will have to use your seam ripper more than anyone would ever like. \u00a0These fabrics slide a little so they need to be pinned down.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\">Blanket Tutorial<\/h2>\n<ol>\n<li>Measure the fleece and the pinky fabric. \u00a0They MUST be <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">exactly\u00a0<\/span>the same size.<\/li>\n<li>Cut any edges the store may have messed up on cutting. \u00a0Sometimes the edge may not be exactly straight. \u00a0The first two steps are the most important.<\/li>\n<li>Pin right sides* together. \u00a0Pin fabric together at 2 inch or less \u00a0intervals. This is another opportunity to make sure the fabrics match up properly.<\/li>\n<li>Ready to sew? \u00a0I use a stretch stitch when I sew mine. \u00a0I want to make sure these last a long long time. \u00a0If you do not have a stretch stitch, the zig zag is a good choice. \u00a0Make sure your seams are 5\/8&#8243;. \u00a0Do not sew too close to the edge.<\/li>\n<li>Sew, leaving an 18&#8242; opening to turn the \u00a0blanket so the design is showing.<\/li>\n<li>Turn the blanket so the design is showing. \u00a0Hand sew the final 18 inches.<\/li>\n<li>It&#8217;s ready for giving. \u00a0Good Job! \u00a0I hope you enjoyed it.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>For children, this gift can average $20, depending on the fabrics used. \u00a0Anytime you use a licensed print such as Disney, the fabric is going to cost more. \u00a0I&#8217;m able to make the adult blankets out of two yards using plaid or something non licensed for under $30. \u00a0These blankets sell retail beginning at $40 and hand made presents are priceless!<\/p>\n<p>*right sides- the side you want facing out when the blanket is complete. \u00a0Usually the softest side of the fabric or the side with the design.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>For children, this gift can average $20, depending on the fabrics used.
