When I first started this blog I made a best of list to include what I thought was the best sewing blogs. Well, some time has passed and now I think I need to revise that list or better yet create a best of list for beginners. \u00a0When I started sewing again, I had no idea where to look for anything! \u00a0I was so glad I had a friend that was willing to help me find my way around.<\/p>\n

  1. Singer\u00a0<\/a>\u00a0 it’s the brand of machine I purchased. \u00a0I don’t know if the brand makes a difference or not but, the section for beginner sewing has\u00a0projects. \u00a0I didn’t have a single pattern when I started sewing. They have a very easy section. \u00a0I used this quite a bit in the beginning.<\/li>\n
  2. Pink Chocolate Break<\/a>\u00a0she has a great beginner sewing tutorial section. \u00a0Wonderful, especially if, like me, you haven’t bought any patterns yet.<\/li>\n
  3. Andrea’s Notebook<\/a>\u00a0I used this and made the most beautiful kimono. \u00a0HINT*** I used stretch lace with a border. \u00a0I didn’t need to hem it. \u00a0That, for me, is always a huge plus!<\/li>\n
  4. What the Craft \u00a0<\/a>\u00a0has an awesome tutorial for making a circle skirt. \u00a0You know, so you have something to wear to work. \u00a0Your friends will be so impressed!<\/li>\n
  5. Sewing Directory<\/a>\u00a0one of the best beginner sewing \u00a0shopping trip guides. \u00a0Actually, if I was an organized type beginner, this would be number one on my list.<\/li>\n
  6. Simplicity<\/a>\u00a0this company has a section of patterns called learn to sew. \u00a0Yes! \u00a0Of course I have used most of these. \u00a0I love them! If you like using videos to sew there are several produced by Simplicity that have video tutorials online as well.<\/li>\n
  7. Mimi G.<\/a>\u00a0this is a designer that produces patterns for Simplicity along with tutorials. \u00a0The link will take you to her tutorial page.<\/li>\n

    \u00a0Pattern Review<\/a>\u00a0this is a good resource for pattern shopping. \u00a0I find a pattern I think I may like and search for a review on here. \u00a0This helps me decide if the pattern is worth the money or not. It’s saved me a few hours. \u00a0The occasions I wasted time and money trying to make something and failed I did not refer to this resource. \u00a0\ud83d\ude41<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    \u00a0 Craftsy\u00a0<\/a>I love this place! \u00a0So many free sewing lessons. \u00a0I have all the free ones I could find. \u00a0Free topics include everything from sewing machine feet, zippers, bag making, sewing with knits, and probably more I have not found yet.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    So Sew Easy<\/a>\u00a0she shares tutorials as she masters the technique.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
